This is a really good post. It does resonate with me, if I had that type of job that keeps me that busy. But I don't. Which at times can be very discouraging. I work at a small office and often times there just aren't enough projects to go around leaving me bored. I do take breaks often, I feel they are the only thing that really rejuvenates me. I don't have much to do, so I often have time to think over what I just did and then think about what I can do next. I have to keep myself busy somehow because I don't want to stare at a computer all day. Thank you for your great words of wisdom, I am building a foundation for work for the day when I have too much on my plate.

Hey Sarah, slowing down a bit is always a good idea. Let us know how this habit change works for you.

Hey Barbara, most of us could use a little more focus. Hope it works well for you.

Hi Karl - I love the idea of step 3 - "Tell yourself what you want to accomplish in this next task and how long you expect it to take". For me, that would certainly help me stay focused. The mental leverage also produces a visual image. I'm going to remind myself to do that more often. Great advice!

Karl,
I really needed these ideas today. I'm going to try putting them into effect tomorrow. I often feel at the end of the day that I've rushed from one thing to another without ever accomplishing anything and leaving pieces of my brain everywhere. I'm hoping if I slow DOWN a bit, I'll be more relaxed, which would be really fantastic.

Thanks!
