Just like Jack Welch said : think of yourself as a gardener, a watering can in one hand and fertilizer in the other hand. Water means salary and bonus, while fertilizer means appreciation and acknowledgement.

A lot of people wish and dream of working in a place like google, but google made that culture. Every company has the chance to do the same and it starts with every individual. If you DO some of those things, you can shift your own company culture towards that as well, you don’t have to wish to be like google, just be like google.

Hi Karl: When I was in law school I volunteered for a non-profit organization that helped victims of domestic violence. They were always getting calls from lawyers working for large law firms and earning mega-salaries asking if there were any positions available. They had saved up enough money and now wanted job satisfaction and meaning in their lives.

Karl, every word a person thinks and expresses contributes to the life he leads. You offer uplifting ideas that can act to distract the mind from concepts like “lack” and poverty.” People often do not realize that word choices affect the vision they have of the world. To believe you live an abundant life affects your attitude and the opportunities you see unfolding all around.

Working where you get to do innovative “things” – that is one of the things that really can make work so much fun. And when work is fun, going there just doesn’t seem so much like work!
