I always apply to jobs at Google with the hope of hearing back from them to no avail. :) I have visited the campus a couple times (had a friend who worked there) and I can see why people love working for them.

Carla's last blog post..Does Eating Organic Mean Going Broke?

Hi Arswino, the two keys are caring and actually listening. Not many companies are good at both.

Chris, being a catalyst for human connection is a great way to put it.

Hi Tom, I just took Google's great work and put a spotlight on it.

Hi Barbara, it's all about the relationships. The more we connect with the people we work with the more enjoyable work becomes.

Hi Karl - I must admit, I've never heard a negative thing on how Google treats their employees. They apparently know the secret to keeping them happy (and healthy). I'm guessing their turnover is very low.

I agree, although perks are great, it's the people we will always remember.

The perks are great and they actually are the catalyst for the human connection that we need at the workplace because without these perks they won't have a place to socialize in a relax and non-threatening manner.
