Hi Scott, yes, we need to create the life we want. No one is going to just hand it to us.

Hi J.D., we just need to chip away at our happiness, eventually the tree will fall and we can pick all the fruit off of it. Hmmm, sounds like the giving tree. Maybe I should phrase it as watering our happiness so it will grow. :)

Hi Nathan, Gary has taught me a lot of people how to deal with social media. I just have to do it a little better than him now. If that's possible.

Hi Marelisa, when we add a little happiness every day it doesn't seem so daunting.

Hi Karl: I love Gary's approach to happiness; it's like when you're trying to increase your cardio workout and every day you jog a little bit longer or a little bit faster. Why not strive to be a little bit happier each day?

Good post Karl...Gary is certainly an inspiration. He's also laid the groundwork for the rest of us. He certainly had a boost by being given a business to build, but he's given us the blueprint for his success in his speeches and blogs.

> adding a .1% to my happiness every single day
I like that. A lot.

There's something about going for the extra mile that turns into exponential results ... and there's something unsettling about settling. I'm a fan of going for it ;)

I was also at SXSW, and this was one of the highlights. I also liked the part where he basically says find who/what has what you want and take it. I think we (or at least me) tend to sit around and hope we stumble into that extra .1% instead of going out and taking it.
