Karl, what a good idea and medicine I surely need. I stick earphones in so I don't hear anything. I need to experience my surroundings and not shut them out. Great post, thanks!

I believe in getting in touch with our senses. It's why I named my TV show, podcast and newsletter "Back to Your Senses". We move so fast, we forget about them...in my opinion. Good reminder!

Hi Karl

An interesting and important concept. I'm going to become more aware of sounds - good sounds.
Rain is often a nice one.

I do have some of the other senses active though. I often burn a candle and scented oils.

Hi Karl,
I'm thinking now...do I really notice the sounds around me, or do they become just part of the everyday, and I don't really sense them? I'll focus on this, and see what I get...

A sound or two that enjoy: the coffee machine as it's brewing coffee and the beeping sounds of trucks backing up in our warehouse/manufacturing area.

Good stuff.

I enjoy the sites and sounds at work.

I also make my own ... I try to improve my workspace so it feels good. I have my ITunes player, a banana plant, and a lucky bamboo plant. I also have scented oil for when I want to smell orange or jasmine. The combo of greenery plus the ITunes is key for me though.

Reminds me of how Walt Disney used to train his imagineers. They ran every creation through the five senses for the ultimate experience. Feeling and observing is keen strategy.
