Do what you love to do. Share your ideas to the world. That's how great men become great, they are never afraid to express their uniqueness. :-)

Hi Karl,

I LOVE the cartoon and more importantly, I love the text that goes along with the cartoon. A person has to be one with their work. That is my philosophy too!

Please do share more of your drawings with us. You are definitely one talented dude, dude! :)

Hi Positively Present, Thanks for the encouragement.

Hi Megan, The trifecta. Never thought of it that way. Good perspective.

Hi Hadeel, Anytime I make someone smile I consider it a win.

Hi Tess, What! You better take that back. He looks nothing like me. ;)

Hi Suzen, It's good to work with our ability to communicate in different mediums. It's much more freeing to work in the cartoon medium because I can express in a more emotional way.

Hi Lisa, I will. Thanks.

Hi Sue, I think the title will make a valuable written post. I'll give it a go.

Hi Nathan, Go for it.

Hi J.D., You are always helpful. I appreciate that. I usually am more calm with a bad post, but this one just got the better with me.

Hi Johanne, Thanks. I know I need to improve, but that's a big part of working happy. We add a skill here and there and before we know it we add so much value to people's lives that we can't stop smiling.

I'm a fan of finding your best medium. If your pictures help you share your points best, I'd leverage that.

When you have a post that doesn't hit your mark, consider a couple of options:
1. let it bake (I have tons of posts baking in the background)
2. version it (share what you've got and do another version down the line)

I miss the boat all the time. I try again. What helps though is that I keep a simple folder of all of my half-baked posts. I periodically tune and prune them. I ship them when they're closer (but I don't wait for perfection.)

I've been thinking of doing the same. You should definitely post as many as you can create.

Hi Karl,

Thanks for sharing your drawing with us. It really does convey the level of frustration you were feeling with yourself about not being able to translate your idea into what you thought was a good blog post. Seems like maybe the inner critic was working overtime and needed to be sent on a long walk. As I'm quite sure that putting one's fist through the monitor was not quite what you had in mind as being "one with your work",I hope we'll get to read about your thoughts on this topic at some point. Then again, I'd say your drawing and the frustration you were feeling with the quality of the post you were trying to write is very instructive on the question of the healthiest way of "being one with one's work".

Hi Karl!
YES! Post them! I have a feeling there is an artist in your trying to squeeze out thru that pencil! Go with it - don't fight it and don't doubt yourself! Just do it! Many writers I know (including myself) work with both art AND writing. You may be surprised how they blend - lending a new dimension to both mediums. I'll be your biggest cheerleader and supporter! Do it! :)
