what-about-me

We can’t forget about our own needs. The only way we will be truly happy is if we express our needs to the people in our lives. If they don’t know how to help us become happy then they will never even care to do so.

*Are you on Twitter? Then check me out at @workhappynow. I give stress relief tips, happiness ideas, and thought provoking quotes.

* I read one of the best blogging ebooks around. It’s called Beyond Blogging: The Secrets to Blogging Success. A friend of mine Nathan Hangen c0-wrote the ebook with Mike CJ. They interviewed 15 of my favorite bloggers and found tips, gems, and ideas from each one. If you are a blogger I recommend you buy this ebook and take your blog to the next level. (This is not an affiliate link. Just wanting to promote something good.)

Hi Karl. I’m with you totally – happiness is probably the most overlooked contributor to productivity.

And thanks so much for the kind words about Beyond Blogging.

  2. Hey Karl,

Thanks so much for the kind words. Means a lot coming from you.

    Love the cartoons :)

Yes!!! Such an important message. We cannot really love or take care of anyone else properly, unless we love and take care of ourselves first.

  4. I think we can only love or take care of others to the degree we love and take care of ourselves. If I have a deep love for myself I’m able to deeply love others. If I have an artificial love for myself I can only have an artificial love for others.

If I have an addiction of any kind my addiction is my love over self, family, friends etc.

I think I got carried away Karl. It’s my psychological background surfacing!

Great point on sharing your rules with other people instead of making them guess — though sometimes guessing can be fun ;)

I’m glad you posted this, because lately in your videos you’ve looked so tired that I wondered if you were taking good enough care of yourself. That’ something I struggle with.
