People love the idea of living life by their own rules. It’s a beautiful thought. We all want to create the life that we need to be happy. Some of us are better at it than others.

Creating a great career is a lot harder than it seems. It’s why we need to learn from other people. We can’t be blindly shooting for career happiness. We have to plan, learn, mess up, and adjust. It’s a process.

It’s why I recommend the book Art of Nonconformity (Amazon affiliate link) from Chris Guillebeau. It’s a well thought out book that helps a person create a more flexible and much happier life.

My favorite part about this book is Chris doesn’t sugar coat the concept of creating a career of your dreams. It’s hard work. It’s a beautiful process, but not easy.
